Ndabane Malcolm Soko - The Art of Photography

I have no doubt that you have seen the NMS photography logo on the picture uploads on this page.  The photographer behind those photos is Ndabane Malcolm Soko, a multi-talented student at the University of Zambia. He is a photographer, entrepreneur, an administrator, psychologist, a leader, a footballer and a scholar. 
Besides a humorous character, Ndabane is famously known for his exquisite photography and picturesque photo shoots. To the delight of our journalism team, we found there is more to Ndabane than just photography.

So we had a little social chat with him and diverted outside of the regular realm of interviewing. the following was our conversation:

Q:What is your name?
A:Ndabane Malcolm Soko aka Uncle Bil

Q: Are you a student?
A: Yes. I am 4th year student studying Public Administration and Psychology at UNZA.

Q: What are you currently doing (career wise)?
A:Currently doing professional photography

Q: What do you love about your current career?
A: I love that I am able to show people our world through my eyes. From a different perspective, a perspective that filters out the noise and shows how beautiful the world is... to me.

Q: What is your biggest ambition?
A: My biggest ambition is to become a world-class photographer

Q: Do you have talents? what are they?
A: My talents include, leadership, empathy, football, quick to grasp concepts, and photography but to mention a few I like to listen to good music (all genres) but mostly hip hop and Afro club. Research on photography. 

Q: What do you like doing in your spare time?
A: I practice editing pictures a lot and I like to catch up with friends over food or soccer, or a FIFA contest.

Q: Who is your celebrity crush?
A: Celebrity crush, Nomzamo Mbatha (South African actress) 💓

Q: What would you change your name to?
A: No, I Would not. I love my name!!!

Q: Do you love pets? What's your favorite type of pets?
A: I love pets. Cats, monkeys and dogs.

Q: What's habit is the most annoying to you?
A: Procrastination.

Q: Do you get used to being a celebrity?
A: Its a process but I will eventually learn.

Q: What motivated you to get into the career you into?
A: The reactions I got after showcasing my work. And the money. Lol.

Q: Who is your inspiration?
A: I really don't have one. I draw inspiration from my past and where i want to be. It gets me up every morning.

Q: Do you speak any other languages besides English?
A: Yes i do. Tonga, sala, nyanja, bemba, a bit of French, and a few other languages that i can just get a few words like lozi and tumbuka

Q: Where would you like to visit?
A: I would like to visit the world in general. Different places equals different view. But most importantly it would be cool to bring back a piece of the outside world home.

Q: What's your favorite foreign dish?
A: Pizza? I am not too sure, I haven't had that much exposure to foreign food. Pizza counts right? 😔

Q: What do you love the most about your career/careers?
A: I love that I am able to move around as well as share and store memories with different people

Q:What would you love to tell your fans?
A: I haven't really had that many fans yet - I think (he chuckles).  However to anyone who follows my work, I just want you to know that I have nothing but respect and love for the support you guys have given me. All I want is for us to keep supporting each other. I really appreciate everything you have done for me. I love you guys!!!
